Route Accessibility Remediation Plan

A route-by-route planning page for reviewing and improving accessibility before public launch. Planning only — no certification claimed.

This is a remediation planning tool

  • ▸This does not certify accessibility
  • ▸This does not confirm WCAG compliance
  • ▸This does not replace professional review
  • ▸This does not mean every route has been fully tested
  • ▸Planning is not the same as completed remediation

Stop-Remediation Warning

If a page contains safety-critical warnings, do not simplify or remove those warnings just to make the page shorter or cleaner. Safety clarity always comes first. Resolve accessibility issues without weakening any emergency or stop/call-a-pro language.

This page is a planning tool only. No route should be marked "remediated" without actual re-testing. Safety-critical warnings must never be weakened during accessibility edits.

Review Focus for Every Route

  • Title and heading clarity — H1 present, meaningful, and unique
  • Visible form labels — inputs have text labels, not placeholder-only
  • Keyboard tab order — logical reading order, focus visible
  • Focus indicator visibility — outline visible on all interactive elements
  • Warning text clarity — warnings use text, not color or icon alone
  • Privacy warnings — appear near sensitive form areas
  • Print and copy output — safety disclaimers survive printing
  • Mobile readability — text readable, cards stack cleanly
  • Screen reader friendliness — headings, labels, and warnings announced
  • No overclaiming — no certification, compliance, or audit claims

Route Groups

Work through one group at a time. Each group has a specific review focus.

Core Navigation

Focus: title and heading clarity, skip link, mobile menu, visible labels, emergency warning boxes

Print and Public Readiness

Focus: print styles, disclaimer preservation, large-print readability, copy button labels

Remediation Workflow

1

Pick one route group to review

2

Open each page and tab through it with keyboard only

3

Test each page on a mobile device or narrow browser window

4

Review all visible form labels and input instructions

5

Check that all warning boxes include plain text — not only color or icon

6

Compare any issues found against the Known Accessibility Issues Board

7

Mark fixes privately in a notebook or offline document

8

Re-test after changes to confirm issues are resolved

9

Leave unresolved issues visible — do not hide them

After completing route remediation, update the Known Accessibility Issues Board, Accessibility Release Notes, and Accessibility Changelog so unresolved work stays visible. This page is planning only.
