What to Review
Icon-only buttons have aria-label
- Buttons that show only an icon must have an aria-label attribute describing the action
- The mobile menu hamburger button has aria-label='Toggle menu'
- Close buttons on panels or modals have a clear label or aria-label
- The Accessibility Display Settings button has a visible label ('Display') on wider screens
Buttons with icons include visible text
- Where possible, buttons show both an icon and a text label
- Print buttons say 'Print' alongside the printer icon
- Copy buttons say 'Copy' alongside the copy icon
- Find/Search buttons say 'Find' or 'Search' alongside the icon
Mobile menu button has a label
- The mobile hamburger menu button has aria-label='Toggle menu'
- The button is keyboard-reachable and operable with Enter or Space
- When the menu is open, the button icon changes (X vs. menu icon) with the same label
- The mobile Display Settings link in the mobile menu is labeled 'Display Settings'
Copy and Print buttons are clearly labeled
- Every checklist Copy button shows visible text 'Copy'
- Every checklist Print button shows visible text 'Print'
- The 'Copied!' confirmation text replaces the Copy label when copying is complete
- Large Print Starter Packs 'Print This Page' button has full visible text
Expand and collapse buttons identify content
- Accordion buttons in Keyboard Navigation Review show the card title
- Accordion buttons in Screen Reader Review show the card title
- Checklist expand buttons show the checklist title
- The expand/collapse state is communicated visually (ChevronUp vs. ChevronDown)
Decorative icons are not required to understand instructions
- Icon symbols in category cards are decorative — the card title provides meaning
- Check marks in trust points are decorative — the text label provides meaning
- Warning icons in safety boxes are supplementary — the text provides the warning
- Emergency warning content is never conveyed by icon only
Safety warnings use text, not color or icon alone
- Red emergency warning panels include full text explanation — not just red color
- Amber caution panels include full text — not just amber color
- SafetyNotice boxes always contain readable text content
- No critical safety instruction requires seeing a specific icon to understand it

"Stop and Fix" Signs
If any of these occur during testing, note the page and button for follow-up.
A button has only an icon and no visible text or aria-label attribute

A warning or error uses only an icon with no text description
Copy or Print action cannot be understood from text alone
An expand/collapse button does not indicate what content it opens
Close or remove action is unclear without seeing the icon
